Överstatlighet är inte liberalism

För drygt en månad sedan postade jag en liten utmaning till liberaler som förespråkar europeisk överstatlighet. Detta med anledning av det konstitutionsförslag som i praktiken omöjliggör en liberal rättighetsstadga och maktbegränsning.

I väntan på bra svar kan jag lika gärna brassa på med lite ammunition från Václav Klaus, som höll ett lysande anförande om bland annat de nya varianterna av socialism, inkluderande ”Europeism”, i augusti för två år sedan.

“even some of the liberals – in their justified criticism of the state – do not see the dangers of empty Europeanism and of a deep (and ever deeper) but only bureaucratic unification of the whole European continent. They applaud the growing formal opening of the continent, but do not see that the elimination of some of the borders without actual liberalization of human activities “only” shifts governments upwards, which means to the level where there is no democratic accountability and where the decisions are made by politicians appointed by politicians, not elected by citizens in free elections.”
